Learning about the Queen to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee

World Book day dressing up

Lunar New year

Once upon a Snowstorm by Richard Johnson. We have been exploring the text, predicting and inferring and creating our own pictures. We also found out about the explorer Ernest Shackleton and his boat the endurance and enjoyed making our own boats outside.

All about winter. We have been exploring winter, drawing winter pictures, reading winter stories and discovering and melting ice.

Our learning animals to develop our Characteristics of Effective Learning.

We have been decorating our classroom, acting out the Nativity and writing letters to Father Christmas to post in the village post box

We explored Kandinsky's circles and went on a circle hunt around the class and outside. We enjoyed trying to recreate the artwork by using different sized circles.

We have enjoyed exploring light, dark shadows and torches this week.

IPADs - We have been creating our own digital artwork using Tate Paint

We have enjoyed exploring autumn on our autumn walk. We read leaf man and made our own leaf men from the leaves we collected and created our own autumn poem.

Emotions and the Colour Monster. We use the book the Colour Monster to discuss our emotions and how we may be feeling. We have made our own colour monster puppets for our emotions display.

Balanceability. We have enjoyed developing our core strength and listening skills using the balance bikes.

Remembrance day. We learnt about what the day means and went to the local church for a Remembrance service

Anti - Bullying week. We talked about what to do if someone does something that we don't like. We say 'Stop it, I don't like it' and we always 'Tell, Tell, Tell!'

We have learnt the importance of being an 'Exploring Elephant' as we explore our new environment - inside and outside and how we must be 'Team working tigers to work together'
