Eagle and Peregrine 3 Church Visit 2018
Eagle and Peregrine visited 3 different churches on Wednesday 18th July as part of their RE syllabus: Eden Baptist Church, Great St Mary’s and King’s Chapel. They were introduced to each setting by a guide and then explored the different churches taking notes and sketching things of interest. Eden Baptist Church is a modern church – built 25 years ago. The children loved looking at the open baptistery! Great St Mary’s is the university church where Stephen Hawking’s funeral was held. The children participated in 3 different activities here including a stained glass hunt using binoculars and an artefact hunt. The final church we visited was King’s College Chapel, part of King’s College. All the children were amazed at the space and grandeur of the chapel and enjoyed exploring and looking at the ‘Adoration of the Magi’ by Rubens worth approximately £60 million!
